I love my Starwood Amex card. As a frequent business traveler, I am always looking to maximize my reward points earnings. Just about every hotel and airline has some sort of rewards program, but the two I am most familiar with are American Airlines’ AAdvantage program and Starwood Hotel’s Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program. I have been a loyal member of both for the past 6 years. When I first began traveling a lot for my day job, I did some research and discovered the Starwood Amex card. The airline will begin testing its satellite broadband system on one plane. The plan is to expand testing to at least three more planes by March.
The test will run – for FREE – for 60 days. During this time Southwest will gauge demand and see how the service works before determining if and how much they’ll charge. I think they should stick to their “No Fee Zone!” motto and make it free indefinitely. Talk about a leg up on the competition!
The service will be a partnership with Yahoo, who is creating a customized home page featuring flight and destination information.
